Summer Break
Brain Builders Academy offers a distinctive Summer Trimester program for PreK3–4 through 3rd grade in Chicago, designed for families who want their children engaged, challenged, and inspired throughout the summer months. While our research-based foundation in phonics, math, and critical thinking remains embedded in the day, the summer trimester shifts into a slightly more exploratory rhythm—blending academics seamlessly into hands-on projects, games, and immersive thematic learning.
With a 5:1 student-to-teacher ratio, students receive individualized support while enjoying extended outdoor time at Mary Bartelme Park, neighborhood picnics, water table exploration, and structured gross-motor play. Summer learners will collaboratively build out an immersive jungle or ocean habitat, complete with costumes and dramatic play experiences for our younger students, while older students expand the theme through advanced ecosystem studies, engineering challenges, writing projects, and science investigations—all within a screen-light, curiosity-driven environment.
Each month includes a field trip, an engaging in-school workshop, and a community-building Friends & Family Event. Families may choose from several customizable meal plan options or pack their own lunches. (Please note: we are strictly nut and peanut free.)
