Where Bright Minds Build Bold Futures
At Brain Builders Academy, our Early Elementary Program for ages 5-9 is designed for curious, high-potential learners who thrive in small, accelerated, and hands-on environments. Our academically advanced curriculum is rooted in neuroscience and aligns with both NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) and ILCCS (Illinois Common Core Standards), ensuring students exceed traditional benchmarks in reading, writing, math, and science. Our students average 3 grade levels ahead of their peers.

Students applying to our Kindergarten program should be able to read phonetically.

A Smarter Approach to Learning
We believe that early education should do more than meet standards—it should unlock each child’s cognitive potential during the most critical years of brain development. Our program is structured to take advantage of these developmental windows through immersive, personalized instruction.
  • Accelerated Math: We use a strand-based, individualized math curriculum that focuses on building a strong foundational number sense, followed by rapid skill layering. Students are moved ahead as soon as they've mastered a concept. This creates a comprehensive foundation in math, and students easily accelerate years ahead of their peers. We monitor their progress through NWEA MAP Math testing 3 times a year.
  • STEAM-Focused Science Curriculum: Students explore biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, and geology through projects and experiments.
  • ELA & Reading: Our phonics-based reading program focuses on understanding the mechanics of words, sentences, and paragraphs while establishing reading fluency and comprehension. Our novel studies tie to real world experiences (ie. Mr Poppers Penguins and a personal encounter with penguins at the Shedd)
  • Engineering & Technology Labs: From building cardboard prototypes to screen-free coding and robotics, students learn how the world works—and how to build in it.
  • Piano: Students receive bi-weekly private piano lessons and participate in seasonal concerts.
  • Mandarin: Our students receive biweekly Mandarin lessons
Low Ratios. Big Results.
With a 5:1 student-to-teacher ratio, our educators tailor instruction to meet each child’s needs. The result? Our students consistently perform years ahead of their age group. In fact, our Kindergarten class recently scored in the top 1% worldwide on the NWEA MAP test.
More Than Academics
We nurture the whole child—socially, emotionally, and academically. Mirror neuron-based teaching strategies help students learn through modeling and movement, while daily play and collaboration build empathy and teamwork.

Learning Through Play and Exploration
Our experience-based approach brings learning to life. Dramatic play and hands-on exploration are integral to the curriculum, exemplified by a lesson on animal adaptations where students built bird nests and used tools to simulate bird beaks. These activities help children understand complex scientific concepts in a way that is both engaging and memorable.
