Overview
Brain Builders Academy is a pioneering early elementary STEAM school dedicated to providing an academically accelerated, developmentally appropriate, and engaging learning environment for children ages 3-9 years old. We are seeking a passionate and innovative small group Teacher to join our dynamic team. The Teacher will be responsible for creating nurturing and stimulating educational experiences that foster a love for learning and promotes the holistic development of each child.
Key Responsibilities
Class Management: Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. Classes consist of 5-7 students. Teachers should get to know & bond with each student in their class.
Instructional Planning: Coordinate with the Math and ELA tutors to develop lessons, activities, and games that reinforce what your students are learning in their one-on-one classes. Develop and implement lesson plans, activities, and experiments that are aligned with the NGSS for Science. Tailor lessons to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students. Lessons should be designed to incorporate the unique interests of the students and answer questions raised by the class.
Individualized Instruction: Provide one-on-one and small group instruction in reading, math, earth sciences, chemistry/cooking, biology, physics, engineering, art, robotics, STEM, and coding. Each student should receive personalized attention and social-emotional support.
STEAM Integration: Incorporate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities into the curriculum, promoting hands-on learning, problem solving, and critical thinking.
Rotational Learning: Coordinate with other teachers to rotate through various immersive learning environments, including chemistry through cooking, earth science, biology, physics, engineering, coding, robotics, art, library, and outdoor play.
Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Provide timely feedback to students and parents.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers, specialists, and staff to plan and implement projects and activities. Participate in professional development opportunities.
Parent Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing regular updates on student progress.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
Certification: Valid teaching certification in the relevant subject area and grade level.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in an early childhood or elementary setting. Experience with STEAM education/subjects, Reggio Emilia, and personalized learning is highly desirable.
Passion: A genuine passion for teaching, children, and STEAM subjects.
